Where to Eat

• Barroco – Cozy, romantic, and one of the most beloved spots in Old Montreal for dinner. My hands down favorite spot. Small so book a reservation in advance. The cocktails are amazing and you feel like you are set in a home.
• Kyo Bar Japonais – Energetic Japanese spot known for sushi, sake, and a lively vibe.
• Jacopo – Italian dining in the heart of Place Jacques Cartier, with rustic flavors and a charming terrace.
• Monarque – A modern French brasserie with elegant dining and a stellar bar. They have the best Hot Chocolate (if it is season)!
• Buvette Nicole – A hidden gem with a relaxed, local vibe and seasonal plates.
• Holder – Classic bistro, perfect for brunch with amazing portions.
• Brasserie 701 – The Elk tartar, butternut squash soup and pasta was amazing! I was here for restaurant week.

• Olive et Gourmando – A must-visit in Old Montreal for lattes, pastries, and cozy charm. Prepare for a wait as it is small.
• Crew Collective & Café – Housed in a stunning former bank with soaring ceilings, a coffee stop that doubles as an experience. Always a long line, but it goes by fast so don’t be alarmed.
• Tommy Café – Trendy, Instagram-ready, and known for its bright interior.
• 49th Parallel Café – A favorite for strong brews and doughnuts.

• Terrasse William Gray – Rooftop cocktails with sweeping views of Old Montreal inside a hotel.
• Bootlegger – A prohibition-style cocktail bar with live music and moody vibes.
• Clandestino – Hidden, intimate, and known for creative cocktails.

Things to Do

Montreal balances European charm with urban adventure. Wear your walking shoes and prepare to see the streets from foot as many of them close to cars.

• Place Jacques Cartier – A lively square in Old Montreal, lined with restaurants, terraces, and street performers. During Christmas time there are plenty of vendors and life among this street.
• Old Port Locks & Clock Tower – Scenic waterfront strolls with postcard-worthy views. Walk the river flow by at a very high rate.
• Mont Royal & Kondiaronk Belvedere – Iconic hike with panoramic city views from the lookout. There are two ways to go up, one by car to a middle marker and then a slow easy walk from there. The other is a hike with lots of stairs.
• Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral – A beautiful, grand cathedral reminiscent of St. Peter’s in Rome. Stay for a service no matter what religion, it is beautiful.
• Bonsecours Market – Historic market full of local shops and artisans.
• Parc Jean-Drapeau – A green oasis with trails, art installations, and views of the city skyline.
• Biodome – Explore recreated ecosystems from rainforest to polar landscapes. Great for kids!
• Place de la Dauversière & Place d’Armes – Squares full of history and architectural beauty.
• Chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Cœur – A hidden chapel within the famous Notre-Dame Basilica.
